London Fletcher Explains Sack Dance

Fletcher had a typically dominant day on Sunday, finishing with a team-leading 16 tackles, two for a loss, a sack, and a forced fumble.  On yesterday’s post-game show with CSNWashington, Redskins linebacker London Fletcher fielded questions from the crew.

Former Redskins player and old friend Shawn Springs asked Fletcher first about his prolific dance following his third quarter sack of Tony Romo.  Will we see Fletcher on “Dancing With the Stars?”

After a hearty laugh, Fletcher responded:

I’m hanging around with–y’know–we’ve got a younger team around here now.  These younger guys in the locker room, they’re doing all these different dances.  So in order to stay up on it, and stay young, I’ve gotta do a move here and there.

Swing dancing with Romo in the backfield was my personal favorite.

Chick Hernandez later informed Fletcher that he would personally have torn both groins trying to imitate the dance.  How lovely.

Fletcher also explained how his pregame speech to the linebackers was fan-focused in terms of motivation, encouraging his teammates to play up for Redskins Nation.  He relayed a story about fans asking him to sign autographs with a certain four-letter verb in front of “Dallas.”

The fun begins at the 2:00 mark in the video:
